The all-embracing Cube from MIWE

In an effort to keep firmly in tune with the ever-changing demands of global consumers, the German oven manufacturer MIWE has developed a new, all-embracing Cube oven which, while not a purpose- built all-purpose oven, is certainly an oven which offers the operator (and ultimately the customer) the flexibility to cover all bases when it comes to how the food is cooked.

Aimed predominantly at snack food producers operating in a customer- facing environment, the MIWE Cube is a number of modular cooking methods available in one system. There is a convection oven and a deck oven and the company is working on the provision of a combi-steamer. Operators can buy whichever module they need and build upon it as demand dictates.

MIWE has its roots in the bakery business and today makes ovens for all sectors of the market from small in-store bakeries through craft or artisan operations as well as big industrial concerns.

The Cube is described as a fresh food system offering ‘a new, universal concept for the entire snack industry where freshly baked products have become part and parcel of an ever-growing eating trend’.

According to MIWE, the Cube ‘relies on a modular building block system that, due to its uniform size, can be integrated into all sorts of establishments.’ There are a series of modules which can be randomly combined such as cabinets which can be used for refrigeration or proofing

“The Cube is not only an oven, it is a system which focuses on food suppliers. It is a whole system to support producers of fresh food,” said a spokesperson for MIWE.

MIWE is very active in the Asia Pacific region. In Japan and Hong Kong, the company relies upon partner companies, Aicohfhto and Kolb respectively. MIWE Australia takes care of the Australian market. With the exception of China, MIWE is active throughout the region.
